Why are the allowed points always less than the assigned points?

They aren't.
The question, perhaps, is why are your granted points always less than you claimed points? This is nothing to worry about. It just means your computer claims slightly high for the work it does, and when credit is normalised, you end up with less than your original claim. Some other people will always claim a little low, and always get more than their claim. But equal points are granted for equal work, no matter how long it took you, or what computer you used. That's the aim, anyway. |

This post should have read "granted posts less than claimed posts". sorry about using incorrect terminology.

Thanks for the response.
How do you control the "claimed" for my computer? |

Claimed credit is calculated based on benchmarks and the time it took to complete the work.
Granted credit is based on all the claimed credits for the work, past claims, and (optionally) the amount of work contained in the result. It's quite complicated. |

I suspected that the system used would be complicated. Thank you for taking the time to answer a trivial question.
