confused Points generated flat

Is there a way to see how many members have returned results in the last xxx days?
Just curious - the number of members and devices has grown significantly since the first of the year, but the points generated and # of cpu hours have been flat.

Re: Points generated flat

Graham - Thanks - but that's only the top 5000 - which assures they are returning results. I'm wondering about ones of the 50,000+ that are not returning results.

cool Re: Points generated flat

fj,
I have put in a suggestion that we only count members/devices that have returned results in xx days in the global statistics and suggested the 3 weeks time allowed to return results as a reasonable limit. I do not know if this suggestion is being considered for the end of March update or not.

Re: Points generated flat

Lawrence - Thanks!

It's not the biggest deal - the results are what they are.

My engineering background is goading me to understand how the points generated and CPU hours stay virtually flat, but the # of members keeps growing.

one can estimate (roughly) how many CPUs are actively involved by looking at the total number of CPU days donated per day. My math suggests the number of active participants is ~20,000.

cool Re: Points generated flat

It was the equivalent of about 22,000+ computers running 24/7 a few days ago. Keep in mind that some just run part time.

Re: Points generated flat

Hi Dev,
I think that at the moment the new members are just covering the crunching lethargy that seems to have set in the Slashdot Team. They have dropped 170,000 points per day! since this time last month. That's a lot of crunching to make up.

Hope this helps

Regards

Dave
