Dtype: I'll try to catch up, but given that you now have a month's jumpstart on me, it won't be easy. (1 week prior to my joining, 3 weeks due to being stuck in a land down under)
My second day of coming at it again, and windows decides to choke and die, restarting 10.5 hour's worth of 82%-complete work unit. What a bad start. But at least my computer wasn't destroyed during cargo handling via qantas. Amendment: Screw windows, full speed ahead! I hereby add my voice to the "When will WCG release a linux client?" debacle. Oh, yeah, food for thought: Qantas airbuses run windows on their in-flight cabin system (you know, where every seat has a screen in front where you can choose from radio, movies, games and tv channels?) On my plane, it blue-screened before takeoff, took 15 minutes to reboot in the air, and finally ran, but only at 5% capacity (most seat screens were unusable), and with no sound to boot. Yannow, it's amusing to see "fatal exception" on the screen in front of you when you're at 35,000 feet. |

Orca,
Just one week ago, I came back form my honeymoon. I turned off my main cruncher for a whole week! ![]() I installed one more device while you are leaving. So, it is not very easy for you to catch up me, but you still have a good chance~~~ if you upload 1000+ points per day. ![]() |

(Hey, I can understand, they're the ones paying the power bill..) I only have two crunchers. Both were turned off for 3 weeks. The sparodic increases on afew days came from friend's laptop, which wasn't much. Considering the price of AMDs here, once the demand for nforce4s slacken, I can get a new AMD 2800 rig for ~S$450. It would surely mean abit more brute force processing power, but not much in the form of a usable computer. Then again, I need to save up for that ~$650 19" LCD. http://www.vr-zone.com/sls/pricelist/Datpage2.gif Sorry, only in Singapore. Here we have da Creative Resource, here we have da Sim Lim Square, and here we have da Funan IT Mall. Not to mention that the airwaves are congested with wireless signals you can hop onto any moment. Geek's paradise. |
