Member and Device Stats Very Much Out of Sync

Per my member stats for 06/20/08 I completed 33 WU for 21,404 points. Per my Device log I completed 16 WU for 9,690 points (total for 6 devices). Anyone have any thoughts on why the big difference?

From past experience there can/will be a 1 or 2 point difference between the 2 and the WU always balance???

Thanks in advance for any information provided!!

Re: Member and Device Stats Very Much Out of Sync

It is difficult to match valid WUs from your "Results Status" page with your daily stats, particularly when you return so many WUs per day: the date you see for each WU in the report is the date the WU has been returned while you would need the date it has been validated. Your daily stats includes all WUs returned and validated on this day, plus all past WUs Pending Validation which have been finally validated on this same day.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Member and Device Stats Very Much Out of Sync

Thank you for the reply Jean. The numbers I compared were not from the "Results Status", they were from the "Device Status". This report lists each device, the run time, points gained and completed wu's by day. As I wrote, I have never seen a difference between the daily "Member Stats" and device stats wu and only 1 or 2 points difference between the two.

Thanks again, Bill.

Re: Member and Device Stats Very Much Out of Sync

OK, I see what you do.
I have no "normal" explanation except between the midday and the night update if device stats are not run during the midday update. In that case after the night update things should be OK again.

Personally after reading your posts I have compared my device stats to the member stats at the total level and I have been surprised to find 59 less WUs in detail than at member level. I think that it might be due to several corrections that the techs have made on different occasions since I joined. In that case I would not be surprised that they make the correction only at member level (I should ask them).

But I am not aware of such problems recently. Except, maybe, if you have run many, many betas in the latest batch. Some WUs may have needed such a manual correction.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Member and Device Stats Very Much Out of Sync

Thanks for the reply Jean! I haven't run any beta's, so that wouldn't be the reason. I wasn't aware that the Device Stats and Member Stats were run in different jobs, silly me :-). That would explain it then.

Thank you again!

Happy Crunching...Bill
