I think it's normal but i have a WU which is waiting to be valited for 5 days now. 3 others WU which have been completed after this one and they have already been validated (same project HCC).
I know that there is a deadline for each WU but i'm wondereing why it is taking so long. Normally, a WU is validated after 1 or 2 days. |

Luck, pure luck, but statistically > 90% is validated in 4 days. In your <10% case your crunching partner either has a very long queue, loaded the job and went away for the week, his telecom cut him off or is a part time cruncher only having the computer on for a few hours a day. That's why 12 days is given for the big and the small contributor.
----------------------------------------Anyway, you got something for a rainy day when no results are reported by you and this one gets validated that very moment. cheers [Added: Soon only HCC will have quorum 2. All the others will run in a bigger validation pool making the chance of getting the first minimum group together much greater. For instance Rice is practically always under 2 days with init distro 19 and minimum quorum 14. This technique cannot be used for HCC. Absolute verification is needed of the image analysis]

Lawrence Resolved on 04/15/2009; see post of that date. I am in a quorum of two and both clients have reported their results and both clients in the quorum are still pending validation. Our quorum is complete now for 6 days without validation. Is this a normal lag between quorum completion and validation of the results? this lag is definitely not normal, but it seems difficult to find the reason for this behavior. I had essentially the same situation in another project where my WU turned valid after a week in PV status: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=25004 I think (and hope) yours will validate, too. Please let us know if/when this happens. |

It took 7 days from the day the quorum was completed to validate the two results returned. I'm convinced, for a very very long time, that there are at least 8 parallel universes that do not interact on the same plain, nor allow to reister each others hear and know... A number of people have seen the validation process delay for unusual lengths of time this month. The problem must be on the server. So far, it always runs eventually.
