09/06/2008 21:36:38|World Community Grid|Message from server: (won't finish in time) Computer on 99.9% of time, BOINC on 100.0% of that |

Look at the deadline, look at the estimated computing time. Apparently the scheduler thinks that there is a problem.

That message appears to be a rather uninformative one, reporting figures that are usually very close to 100% and leaving out the figures that probably make the difference. cpu_efficiency is not reported in the message, but must be part of the equation. I'd suspect random fluctuations in duration_correction_factor to be the biggie. Looking at my backups, I see values for it ranging from .66 to 1.54 on machines which are on constantly.

Hello bionicle3112,
The last I heard there were only 6 cells that ACAH was trying to finish up. The next group of work units (with new graduate students) will probably start around the end of the year or early in 2009. Lawrence |

Keep the tin hat on, and I will keep fishing for those ACH re-runs you just never know when one will bite. |

(And on-topic: for some reason I though AC@H was only for Linux. Literally this week I looked at the project lists again and saw that in fact AC@H runs on Windows too. I selected it too late to participate in this round but will keep that checkbox (and the Beta checkbox) on and hope to participate next time!) |
