I have decided to expand my list of projects and choose WCG. Signing up through BOINC Account Manager does not work, so I came directly to the sight. It appears I have to download BOINC from the WCG site and install that version.
----------------------------------------1. Will this simply replace the version of BOINC (5.10.45) I have installed and pick up the projects I am currently running (lhc@home and einstein@home)? 2. Are there any steps I should take before downloading the WCG version of BOINC? 3. Is there a way to sign up to WCG using the version I currently have installed? Thanks. Hello joearthurs,
If you already have BOINC installed, all you need to do is 'attach' BOINC to WCG and set up your local membership information. Reinstalling BOINC is redundant and unnecessary. Lawrence |

BAM, hmmmm that represents a potential problem.
----------------------------------------1. Make sure to first add WCG to your BAM profile, else it would detach WCG on the next contact. 2. Use the Advanced Menu > Attach to Project" selecting WCG, entering user name and password. That's all that's needed. No WCG version of the agent is needed. cheers

I have attached BOINC to WCG and am now helping conquer cancer. No problems.
Thanks Joe |
