Is it possible to indicate how large a Beta Test is when it's announced?
----------------------------------------The last few have been quite small and pretty well over by the time we see the announcement. Obviously not worth taking steps to try and help out on those ones. However, if a Beta Test is going to run a few days or weeks, then I'd like to dedicate processing to it for a change of pace (de-select all projects except African Climate - that leaves just Beta Tests) Not a big deal ... would just tell people if there's much chance of getting any work units for a particular Beta Test. ![]() |

You have managed to get enough beta runs for a badge, which is more than most of the rest of us can say. There do not seem to be very many of them, and they are only needed for a new project or a problem fix.

Hello BKraayev,
After the original NRW Beta test, knreed was discussing developing a new policy for the scheduling server for Beta tests. He thought that too many work units were running on the same few machines. A good Beta test would run on many different computers to try to discover problems. He was considering a policy of sending just 1 Beta work unit to a scheduler request from a client. Lawrence |
