WCG is what they say it is???

Hello everyone. I have installed WCG client over month or two and say about it to some of my friends. Someone came someone didn't but this is what make me write to you. I am a moderator of my colledge community and one day I post a question about grid community. One of answers was: "I do not beleve them maybe they are processing something related to weapon." I was surprised that 25% voted for this answer.

Now my question is How do we really know? Is there some agency that say: "Ok you are non profit org and you say this and this is your job. Let we see if this is really like you say it is."

I'm not worried but I would like to show to that 25% that there is nothing to be suspicious. I read this "The World Community Grid is a Non-Profit Organization" before but didnt quite read it right. Anyway thanks for reply. I'll post this on college board.

There already are the 'weapons' you refer to, we usually call them viruses. HIV/AIDS, SARS etc.

This project is being run to find ways to combat these 'weapons of mass destruction' as well as many other killer diseases that affect humans.

Tell your fellow college students to quit with the pessimism and show some optimism.
