Computation errror not clearing from tasks

How do I manually clear a project out of my BOINC client? I have a Computation error result that won't clear itself out, deadline for it was end of April and it's still listed in my Tasks.

In your results status?

They will automatically go away after awhile, as newer workunits replace the results. I don't worry about it after several years of BOINCing.

The end of April isn't that long ago, actually. My last page has some results from the latter half of February.

Re: Computation errror not clearing from tasks

If you truly mean in the BOINC Manager->Advanced View->Tasks tab, have you tried any of these:

- Select WCG in the Projects tab and click Update?
- Select the task in the Tasks tab and click Abort?
- Exit BOINC and restart it?

Which BOINC version do you use, on what OS?

Re: Computation errror not clearing from tasks

Hello Fell,
it's still listed in my Tasks.

What does it say under Status and Progress? Is it listed in the Transfers tab?

Lawrence

Hi Lawrence,

Progress: 100.000%
Status: Computation error

It is not listed in the Transfers window.

Re: Computation errror not clearing from tasks

Hi,

What client version are you on? There have been sporadic / far apart reports of transfers or task lines not clearing whatever is done, but only when there were connection problems, which we had a few of previous Sunday and the weekend before that. Yours is seemingly though from before. Have though not seen it at all with 5.10.45.... thus if on an earlier version (you did not answer Ageless' questions), upgrade. The download and install should but take a few minutes. The process will stop and start the client for you.

(btw, assume you exited the client at least once and done a boot)

ciao

Re: Computation errror not clearing from tasks

Hi, Fell.

The last thing to try is resetting the project. This will also lose any work you have in progress, so you may want to select "No new tasks" first, then complete the work in your queue.

Then reset the project. This should remove the corrupt task.
