BBC News

Who else joined this project after reading about it on the BBC website?

I had never heard of it before then... this project needs more 'advertising' like that - there are so many people who could just stick this little programme on their PCs....

Hi Bertiebertie,

I was actually LOOKING for a project like this, and then.... I saw mention of the WorldCommunityGrid on.... BBC NEWS smile
Several years ago I had been donating processor time to the Seti@home project, and although that was much more esotheric than folding proteines, I still had the feeling I was participating in something good and valuable. I needed that feeling back, so the decision to download the agent and become part of this Grid was very easy for me smile

Re: BBC News

Yep I was one of the brits who investigated further seeing this on BBC... and I did admit that I had never heard of it beforehand.... more publicity could get a lot of others into it... I remember some colleges donating processor time to Seti, so why not this?

Re: BBC News

Anglefire,

Some believe that a "E.T" with a more developed knowledge and understanding of this universe could solve many troubles here on earth....
Since the distance of the nearest solar system is considerable, I found it more "down to earth" to give my unused CPU-time to a humanitary project. thinking

I joined a bunch of nice guys from all over the world, we use Skype and MSN messenger to keep in touch and have some good laughs on the way.
