Computation errors due to overclocking

I have 2 main crunching systems:
AMD Opty 165 1.8GHz @ 2.7GHz
Intel E8400 3GHz @ 4.1GHz

The AMD system will never error; I can overclock to the point of unstability
The Intel system will error if I go above 4.1GHz...even though I am stable in everything @ 4.45GHz

I don't want to waste a 300MHz overclock because 1 app doesn't like it. Is it only certain WUs? I have tried HCC 5.20 and Rice 6.13 (so far) to no avail.

Run memtest on that Intel machine.
4100mhz isn't that high on a E8400
If still problems, stop over at XtremeSystems and the guys will help you out. Some very sharp guys there when it comes to clock issues.
Best of Luck.

"I don't want to waste a 300MHz overclock"

If you don't solve the issue why not just run 2 o/c profiles?
A WCG friendly one and your maxxed out one?

Just a thought.

Re: Computation errors due to overclocking

Stable according to what?

not restarting?
prime95?

Maybe try bumping up a couple of voltages to see if that helps. I know I had to bump up some unexpected areas to achieve stability. (add some more volts to pci express is what I needed for stable computing ironically enough.)
