Downloading work units.

My main host seems to have stopped downloading new work units. I thought it was keeping a 2 day cache but in the last coulple days none have been added. I'm finishing my last 4 now. Will it add new when those are finished?

Re: Downloading work units.

Your problem is probably related to this issue: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=20201

Just wait, and you should get more work eventually. If you run out completely, try "Update" in the advanced view projects tab.

Re: Downloading work units.

I'll just add that many are now getting 'no work is available for xxxxx' messages coming up now for all projects rather than the previous 'project/servers down' type messages, so I suspect until thats resolved no amount of clicking 'update' is going to help at this time.

Re: Downloading work units.

There was a lot of work that was being sent out via the 'reliable' mechanism. In fact most of the 'shared memory' segment used to state the next results to assign was designated as needing 'reliable'. As a result I have temporarily disabled that while the system returns to normal operations.

Everyone should be able to get work now.

Thanks all who replied. smile As my last 4 units were all 75% + complete the scheduler suddenly sent me a fresh 2 day cache. Glad to see server issues being worked out and kudos to those who oversee and maintain this enormous undertaking applause

All right Kevin, work is coming smoothly now, on an XP machine and a Linux one.

Thank you all for your hard work, and sorry for your week end... smile
Cheers. Jean.
