The error work units are not shown in the log you provided. They were all reported at the same time. Did you abort them? Were they aborted by the server?
If your work is returned late, then it will be marked "Too late", not "Error". Beta work has a short deadline so that it is given high priority and the beta can be completed quickly. |

They were aborted by server, I presume because they were not received by the 04/20/2008 07:27:32 deadline. They were only sent out at 04/20/2008 02:35:25
Of the two still working< marked mine< I am going to delete 1 and let the other one finish and report late to see how they are handled. I don't think that the beta deadline is as strict as production deadlines. They may just be setting them short to encourage your system to work on them. The techs don't really want to sit around for two weeks before checking some results.

Unless a Beta unit gets caught in an infinite loop, let it run. The idea is to find any problems. Deadlines are just used to make BOINC run them quickly.

I don't think that the beta deadline is as strict as production deadlines. They may just be setting them short to encourage your system to work on them. The techs don't really want to sit around for two weeks before checking some results. In this case it seems for some reason they are strict. The server aborted four of them and suggested I abort the other two, 04/20/2008 07:27:32 deadline. They were only sent out at 04/20/2008 02:35:25 The third machine was only allowed 21minutes and 41 seconds to report. Failing, it was then sent to my machine. To accelerate a test, extra copies are send out at times to get quickly to quorum (That's why FAAH & DDDT production work now has a 3rd copy circulated as per announcement in the Known Issues forum). The system worked exactly as intended. All unstarted work was canceled on first server contact and that what was started, could be left to run and fetch points or chosen to manually abort, at which time no credit is given for time already computed.

Yes it is. I think I'll remove the pebcac factor and let it do it's stuff.
Thanks |

Theory is that if the feedback is digested and the patient has progressed beyond the temporal, the pebkac affliction most often is remedied too :D
