QX6700 Hanging during DDDT wu's

hiya guys,
the dddt wu's keep locking up - they seem to still be doing the work, but i have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it. I haven't had any failed. And i haven't had the same issue on any of my other pcs.
I don't have the same issue with other projects?
any ideas?
thanks for your help
Regards
lloyd

Re: QX6700 Hanging during DDDT wu's

I do remember (not sure though) that WCG had some issues with Vista. I do recall somewhere in a thread this was discussed. Also, have you monitored you system temp and power demands? Sometimes heat causes system problems and not enough power can also cause problems. It looks like you have a very power hungry system.

A new AutoDock build will be released soon (AutoDock is the name of the software DDDT uses). Please wait for that to see if it fixes the problem (it is expected to do so).

If it doesn't work, then we can look into it again for you.

well i have vista 32bit running on an AMD 5200 without this issue.
As for the power i hope the Enermax galaxy 1000watt can deal with it, lol. and cooling/temps i'm using water cooling so i don't think that's an issue either.
I just wondered if it's to do with the qx6700 (the first quad core available) gonna upgrade it soon anyway, or vista 64bit?
Thanks for your help

Re: QX6700 Hanging during DDDT wu's

I have seen some reports here of locking up. However, my 3 XP computers and an X2 on Vista Ultimate 32 aren't having any problems with DDD-T. I have DDD-T version 5.15 in there now. If the new autodock doesn't fix this, then further investigation may be needed.

If it's an overclocking problem, it usually just errors out.

One of the previous vista issues was fast shutdown that ruined the current workunit, but that was solved with BOINC 5.10.45.

Re: QX6700 Hanging during DDDT wu's

Yeah, my AMD X2 in on Vista 32bit and my FX-62 in on XP 32bit and both are fine too, but my quad on vista 64bit seems to lock up.
Silly question - will the autodock update automatically?
Thanks
Kind Regards
Lloyd

but my quad on vista 64bit seems to lock up.

We assume that Vista64 is running it as a 32 bit program. None of these projects are set up as 64 bit as yet.
