Don't think ISO is very much alive across the big pond..... English/Americans tend to abide by international standards if they are they ones thinking them up (cynic).

In English speak one says April 7th and not 7th April.... the fortune of Italian e.g. is that one writes it pretty much exactly as one speaks it (and still 80%+ get it wrong). It would confuse if a German website would take on the English/American notation.

Now tell you a secret, Italian is THE international language (south of the Alps and east and west of the Apennines) and certainly in global kitchen speak
