Many results stuck in Upload status

I have six sets of results that are stuck in upload status. When I go into the transfer tab and click retry the list of 13 does not shrink but constantly remain in retry mode.

I am a Boinc 5.10.45 user on XP.

Any suggestions?

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

What security software do you use? Do you use Zone Alarm? Has anything in your Internet setup changed recently?

Here are some suggestions, in increasing order of desperation:

1. Go to the transfer tab and click "Retry now".
2. Check your security software settings for anything that might block BOINC.
3. Reboot your computer and try again.

Bingo. You are correct. My firewall was blocking the uploads.

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

I have a smiliar problem but only one result is stuck in upload. It has been stuck for three days. I do not think it is my security software because all other results are being sent successfully. Only one result is stuck. All other results are uploading and downloading ok.

I am at BOINC 5.10.45 with Vista SP1. Here what I got after retry:

4/6/2008 9:02:54 PM|World Community Grid|Started upload of X0000043990869200412091105_0_0
4/6/2008 9:02:55 PM||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
4/6/2008 9:02:55 PM|World Community Grid|Temporarily failed upload of X0000043990869200412091105_0_0: can't resolve hostname
4/6/2008 9:02:55 PM|World Community Grid|Backing off 3 hr 27 min 41 sec on upload of X0000043990869200412091105_0_0
4/6/2008 9:02:56 PM||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

Yes, had that. The router flopped around mid transmission (actually the Telecom did that for me). Needed to boot the computer (probably could have exited BOINC service and restarted) and after it went through. Something weird with the IPs probably.

As for the "Retry Now", it goes without saying that the targeted file item needs to be selected before hitting the button.

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

I have rebooted many times. Also did select the stuck item for retry. You can see this in the message as 4/6/2008 9:02:54 PM|World Community Grid|Started upload of X0000043990869200412091105_0_0
Is there a way to mannulay delete this item?

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

The stuck upload would be in the transfer tab. Select the problem workunit line and hit the abort button. There is no "unabort". Be careful.

Sorry it didn't work. I have not seen workunits like this myself.

Re: Many results stuck in Upload status

Well, we really like to see a piece of the log and maybe set some debug flags. Hope you help us with that.

As for deleting, there is an abort option in the transfer window and else, delete the item in the tasks window section.
