I returned a result which at first was 'pending' (mine was the third result out of 3, 1st valid 2nd error). After a time i got the same points the 1st claimant asked for...

Correct. The difference was too great, so the history for the involved devices is consulted and the one nearest to it's credit history is used as the one determining the granted credit. It's nothing to do with who came first or last. That is some silly rule used at some other BOINC projects.

Thanks for the answers!
This is the first time this happens on my machine, so I'm starting to wonder whether this could have something to do with changing from Boinc 5.10.31 to 5.10.45? Or is the fact that this is the first time a proof of little experience/attention in (grid)-computing with Boinc? ![]() |

It seems a rare case where in fact an under-claimer is meeting with an overclaimer.... i could elaborate on it, but in a nutshell neither 2 are close to project averages in run time and claim per hour. The deviation was though individually not so big that it made another new rule to kick in and mark both up or down.... hey, today a client of mine claimed 71 on a job and got 98. Win and loose, things overall gravitate towards the average.

It seems a rare case where in fact an under-claimer is meeting with an overclaimer.... Hi, Sekerob! In my case, unfortunately, it is not so rare with Help Conquer Cancer. My latest HCC WUs: X0000044431042200412211614_ 0-- Valid 04/06/2008 07:02:51 04/07/2008 14:42:49 12.12 83.1 / 36.3 X0000044471050200412150804_ 0-- Valid 04/07/2008 03:36:14 04/09/2008 04:08:20 12.91 87.1 / 53.4 X0000044550989200412311358_ 0-- Valid 04/08/2008 16:27:50 04/10/2008 19:11:17 11.65 77.2 / 38.7 It drives me nuts when I see the granted credit. I'm frequently the overclaimer in all projects, but this huge gap between credit claims happens only with HCC. Thanks in advance. 64 bit client and OS involved? I use Linux. Maybe most Linux clients are too modest to claim for high credit in HCC. Well, mine isn't. hahahah ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 12, 2008 1:57:40 PM] |
