I have all of my machines set to buffer 7 days of additional work - due to the fact that I'm running a sneaker net.
One machine though, will only request two days of work. Any ideas? Thanks! |

maybe because it's got a history of not returning more than 2 days of work in 7 days or maybe your local prefs are in conflict with the website cache prefs?

Perhaps the first, as this machine was down for a couple of weeks. Prior to that it was up for a year.
But, Boinc has the proper completion times listed, i.e., add up all the work times for queued work and it comes out to 2.5 days. Can I tell Boinc to re-learn that's it okay to download seven days of work? |

The ol dog could be taught a few quick tricks:
----------------------------------------1. Set the website profile attached to that client with a 0.01 day connect and a cache of 7 days under the custom section. 2. Go to the local prefs and clear them out. 3. Go to BM Projects tab, select WCG and Reset. That will annul all you have, reset all the counters, refetch all the unstarted work from the server and fetch more.... if the ol dog listens. AND, to make our support life easier, install 5.10.45 if not already there, plainly right over the old installation even without stopping the client.

If you power down your comuter for some days then BOINC will assume, and don't ask why, that this will repeat. You need to close BOINC temporarely and edit the

Check to see that your system time makes sense on both sides after moving something around. I tried BOINC sneakernetting last year. It got confused up and decided that a workunit was due in 1900. It is not as clean as the old UD was for swapping computers.
