BOINC released the 5.10.45 client last Wednesday. The critical fixes for World Community Grid include some fixes for proxies and some workarounds that are now available for the remaining proxy problems.

The World Community Grid version of the BOINC 5.10.45 agent is now available. We expect this version to be stable but just to be safe we are asking any users interested to go ahead and install it now and let us know if they run into any problems. The new version is available here:

For those who are interested in knowing what is different between the World Community Grid version of the agent and the standard BOINC agent the most important are as follows:

• We include the World Community Grid 'skin'
  
• We include a 'project_init.xml' file that initiates a project attach to World Community Grid automatically
  
• The installer includes a check for the UD agent, and if found, starts the uninstallation of the UD agent
