I'd like to send a migration reminder to some of my team members who are still using the UD agent – particularly to people who may not read all the information in WCG emails or visit their My Grid page.
----------------------------------------I've had a look at the migration FAQ and it says some installation changes were to be made in September 2007 to simplify the process – have these been actioned? Ideally… I'd like to give short instructions saying click this link to uninstall the old agent and click this link to install the new one. |

The new BOINC agent (currently 5.10.30) available for download from WCG will automatically detect the old UD agent and ask you if you would like to remove it.

Standard Berkeley download for Windows is now 5.10.45, which should fix a couple of Vista problems.

Now that we have officially 'adopted' the 5.10.45 client we will start sending a email to our members that are still on the UD agent. If things go as planned, the first mailing of this email will be tomorrow and then will repeat every 2-3 weeks. It will point include migration information as well as a list of devices that have recently returned work via the UD agent. |
