[RESOLVED] Need work - haven't received work in ages

I am sharing my cpu between Malaria, Einstein, World Community and ClimatePrediction. ClimatePrediction is the only one that is getting any work; its 'to completion' time is around 400 hours so I gave it 40% of my time. I really want the rest of you guys to get some of cpu too. CP actually completed an entire job and none of the others ever gave me any work.
My stats flatline on Feb 04 for WCG (yes, I leave my pc on continuously)
Any suggestions?

Here is my startup:

Try "suspending" other projects and then hit update WCG, see if you then get work.
Afterwards the others can be re-enabled.

Re: Need work - haven't received work in ages

Hi,

CPDN is on my list of aggressive CPU time grabbers. To balance a heavy and long job like that you actually have to reduce the Resource Share/Project weight for them to something like 10%. That will work until CPDN nears it's deadline at which time your client will go into High Priority processing mode and compensates for what it before was not getting.

Also, Reset WCG in the Project tab. That will nullify any Long Term Debt it may have accumulated, though usually it's CPDN that has a large LTD due it's aggressive behaviour.

Let us know if that work.

That was it - as soon as I reversed the allocation of work, the rest of the guys started downloading work. the allocation is now 100 for CP and 200 for the other guys.

Thanks Sekerob - (slap forehead, shrug shoulders) it seemed to work for me for months so i did not even think about the allocations.
Resetting WCG - Is that the same as clicking on the 'clear debt' button in Boinc Debt Viewer?

Duh!

Yes, not many know of this tool, but in your case it will just do the LTD rectification where Reset will fix all other parms for a project as well.

Can you please edit the Opening Post Title and prefix/insert with the brackets [RESOLVED] like sample of this post. Helps the next one finding a solution.
