Re: No Work is Available

Hello mclaver,
These projects have been sending out work units these last 2 days. So I guess the first thing is to ask for the type of work units you are requesting (Mac PPC, Mac OS/X, Windows, Linux) and the second question is what projects have you selected in your preferences. For that matter, could you include the first 16-18 lines in your Messages tab to tell us about your system, etc.

Re: No Work is Available

It is a windows xp system and as I have said it has been working fine for a long time. I am requesting work from Help Conquer Cancer and Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2. I am running BOINC 5.10.30.

confused Re: No Work is Available

Hi mclaver,
The next thing to check is the Results Status page. At the top left there is a drop-down menu labeled Device Name. Use it to select the results from your problem device and look at your recent work units. If they are all fine and the server thinks that you do not have any outstanding work units, then look at the preferences that you are sending to the server. This is listed in the beginning of your Messages tab. Has something changed the amount of memory that you allow BOINC to use below the minimum requirements?

Re: No Work is Available

I checked the results page and all results are Valid, receiving the last valid results on 3/8. The profile this machine uses is the same profile that 9 other machines are using and they are fine. Memory looks ok, but I noticed that there is only 300mb left on the C drive where the BOINC directory is. I see no error messages related to disk space.

Re: No Work is Available

Very Very odd, but than, nothing surprises me given the near endless ways a device can get confused. First off, because you have no work in cache, go to the project tab, select WCG and hit Reset. Also can you restart BOINC and post the message log so we can see your setup.

Yes, 300mb is not enough. You need to make space or move the whole BOINC directory set to a drive with at least 1gb, preferred 2gb free space.

thanks.

Re: No Work is Available

It turns out the problem was related to the disk space. I moved the BOINC directory to a drive with more free space and everything started working fine. Thanks for your help.
