In the past I saw diseases and thought wow that sucks, now I have been hit by a baseball bat directly in the face. My sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year and it was bad but we all know survivors it happens. Treated all was good scanned and cancer free, Killer! Well headaches came and after multiple visits to doctor brain scan was done, before Christmas 07. 4 Lesions and more radiation she did not break news until day after Christmas. Since then has shown in spine and very fast spreading cancer can not find name right now. She is being given meds to make comfortable and we are not satisfied, looking into research and trial treatments, like everyone else prayers and love is all we can do. Cancer has now in my life and I want to help find a cure so this is one small part being on the world community grid. Best of luck to you out there and I now understand major diseases and feel for those facing and I can now understand.

Sorry to hear that mate
Cancer is a real basket (personally moderated) especially when it hits someone close. Not being of a religious nature, I won't say I'll pray for your sis, but if I was I would. My thoughts go out to you and yours at this very difficult time (again there's no words that can offer comfort) |

I hear you stopforeclosure. It is great to know that our little part here is helping to prevent stuff like that from happening to your sister in the future. Hope everything turns out alright.

Hey stopforeclosure be aware that you have a lot of companions here in this fight... don't lost your hope pleae !
----------------------------------------Unfortunatelly last year I lost my mother who resists in the last 12 years in a constant battle against Cancer. It is a very sad disease and I'm angry to help any Cancer projects to combat it. I really hope that we, all WCG crunchers together, get enough force to leverage some discovery or some drug or some way of treatments to fight Cancer (anyone). I will pray for your syster and ask for WCG cancer projects produce quick practical results... Giba. ![]()

Ca always was my priority. Just 20 years ago, we were near Oxford after my wife had been diagnosed with it. We moved to Headington so that she would not have as far to travel for treatment. She had already lost her sister with it and the same sister had already lost two husbands - at least one with the same condition. Since then, I have lost my brother, sister and brother-in-law with it. My wife, avoiding the evil eye, is now a twenty year cure.

Hi stopforeclosure
I'm sorry to hear about your sister, and I pray that she does overcome this illness. There's a lot of research going into cancer in many different science disciplines. Don't lose hope. Stack |

If you're interested in crunching mainly to help cancer research, I've found two more BOINC projects you might want to participate in:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ http://cels-at-home-dev.dyndns.org/cels/ Having more than one such project can help at times when the cancer project here runs short on workunuts. |
