This is weird, I have lp_245_00028_14.
Boinc is stating that I have been working on this unit for 15 cpu hours already. It is only 12% done and it is estimating another 22 hours to go. For every second of CPU time used on it, the estimate goes up by a second. It seems like it is stuck in a endless loop. I read in another thread that this is a known bug but you can't replicate it. Is there anything you want me to do to help you figure this bug out? Post logs, something? Stoneysilence |

Try suspending then resuming the work unit.
If that doesn't work, abort it. Apologies for the inconvenience. |

Before doing any aborting, please read this FAQ:
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=16378 It is the Project that needs suspending, not just the work unit so is many a reporters experience, and my own. This way, some crunching time is rescued and the unit usually runs on the second time in one go. tatah

I suspended the project and it didn't help. Guess I will have to abort the work unit.

If it did not restart after the Project was reactivated, try exiting BOINC and restart (see the FAQ). In all cases waiting 30-60 seconds is important for BOINC to completely unload. If it does not, abort and post the error log from the Result Status page for 'we hope' some pointer why it's went stuck.

Just found this same trouble with one of my computers running boinc as a service on Vista sp1.
Work unit lq619_ 00013_ 17-- was showing 19+ hrs cpu time, 42.25% progress with 11+ hrs to completion. After reading the above post this was finally resolved by stopping boinc, and restarting after a moment. Task has now resumed and progressing normally but instead of 19+ hrs of cpu time it now shows only 3+ hrs. I'm glad I didn't have to abort the work unit but now I'm just watching too see if the 16 hrs show up as credit or if they are just gone? Either way I guess all is well now. I don't get to post much but I want to say 'Thanks to all' for the support forums. Your work is really appreciated here. J |

Task has now resumed and progressing normally but instead of 19+ hrs of cpu time it now shows only 3+ hrs. I used to see this on an old Win98 machine with memory leaks. After reboot, the workunit would show a correctly executed time and resume. If checkpoints are very far apart, this can also be a problem if computers are turned off/on a lot. Recent projects have more frequent checkpoints, minimizing this problem. This problem seems to be more like the first one, or a strangely running workunit.
