WU rebel

Greetings

Done a whole bunch of units without issue.
However, found a rogue one today.

Just checked a rig and found a WU had a "computation error" after over 9 hours on a machine that completed others in circa 80 minutes.

WU's before and since that one are fine......just that odd one.
9 hours wasted!!! crying

Re: WU rebel

Thanks vaio,
However, if you want to help the staff look at this, you need to include more information - such as the work unit name, your computer ID, your OS, etc. All of this is in the BOINC Manager Messages tab.

Re: WU rebel

Hello vaio,
It's the start of a new week! biggrin

I expect that the staff will have plenty to keep them busy this morning so attaching the rest of the info to this thread in the evening will probably be in plenty of time.

I hope they are not working on weekends. Too easy to burn out that way. And work has a way of piling up over Saturday and Sunday.

Take your time. tongue

Okie doke-------credit doesn't bother me.
Just unusual to have a failed unit---is the only one to date in my results list.

Re: WU rebel

The units have build in time outs so the computational error could be such an indicator after failing to dock X times. Lucky it's not on UD. Does not time out until 60 days or like 3 weeks of CPU time (nay, it's the same science so expect it to crash out on that one too, would the project have been running under that agent).
