Dumb question, but how do you goto the most recent post in a Thread where there is a lot of posts? I dont see a button for that anywhere or is there a way to sort a thread to see the newest posts first?

You just have to click on the icon just after or below the poster's name in the "Last Post" column. That will bring you to the last page of the thread. Then press the End key and you are at the end of the last post.
----------------------------------------Not very smart, but until we get this forum software updated that's all we have...  And don't ask for an icon to bring you to the first post you have not read yet. This one also is for the next upgrade of our forums. It's in the pipe, just be patient as we are. Cheers. Jean. |

Hello Growler,
At the extreme right end of the Index view of a thread, there is an icon of a page with a superimposed arrow. This is the 'Last Page' icon, as you can see if you hover the mouse cursor over it. Click on that and you should go to the last page. You can adjust the number of posts per page by selecting My Forum Profile - Change My Information - Posts per Page. I use 20 posts per page. Some people use 50. We hope to update the forum software this year, which will improve the situation a lot by eliminating bugs, etc. Lawrence |

One of the more annoying problems is to get to the previous page when there are say 50 pages, as all that is listed is the first 10 pages....anyone know an easy way?

All the tricks I know and collated from forum use and discussion are in the Start Here forum Search & Navigation FAQ. For up/down (on same page) I've posted a link to an add-in for Firefox. Does not help IE users, but then I don't understand why there still are but to do a manual Woz Update ;D

I have searched for the Search & Navigation FAQ but cannot find it....can you let me know how to search for the FAQ that tells you how to search....

Seriously though, it does not tell you how to go to specific pages in a topic....all it does is about search which I did not ask a question about.....

I wonder what e.g. items 1 and 2 are about in the second post of the search result ;P They concern going to the top of the last page to fing the last post. Easy, been doing that for years.However, if there are 120 pages in a thread and the last post is on page 120, there is no easy way to get to page 119. The list of available pages goes from 1 to 10 and if you select 10 then the top limit is now 13 and so on....it takes a long time to reach page 119..... |
