Just curious, what are top twp PC makers are the best in reliability: HP or Dell. Amazon had a great deal about a week or two ago: Ryzen 5 2400G, AMD Radeon RX 580 The SSD sounds like a must have along with 1 terabyte HD. thinking

And Microcenter, goota check that out again. wink

I've been moving the PCs to our new house one at a time all summer. Finally everything is at the new house . . too bad we picked the hottest summer to move. Have a great week!

JC, if buying OEM i generally get used HP Z8XXX workstations and install Linux. If going for the latest/greatest, I build my own with sourced parts from Newegg and Amazon. If you have a Micro Center or Fry's near you, that is a good option for parts, too.

Actually, I would have preferred the Linux and the HP workstation. Just wondering how well it will play with the software I already have. In a perfect world, I would add a PC with that Linus option and use it only as a crunching rig! Thanks!

That's a good deal. On PC Partpicker the same components including a Win10 Home license come in around $780.

That is a very good website. That Ryzen7-1700 was under-powered with a 315 Power Supply. Stopped me quickly and I would more than 4GB memory. My LIAN LI PC-7B plus II Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case is a better case and I am not crazy about all those blue lights. Still, gotta be careful as I have major (for me) bills to take care of. Oh well ... soon! biggrin
