All The Pie Eaters

It was very tough just to be in the Top 10 yet again...

Just to be in the Top *16* (nearly all of us) on this small yet awesome Team (over 1,000 Boinc Credit per day)! Like DenisKozlov, Farfik, DarkStarX, Tommunich, Deuce78 and llucilluc .

anhhai by enough slices of pie over RaymondFO, Doneske, WildWilber and ethelred. Killer Tomato, Ellios, Dick_Dastardly, Rudi the Red and JC closely after that.

I hope that you have an extra day of work units as the following *Known Issues" thread *could* effect your crunching stats:

Extended BOINC Server Outage Planned from 21:30 UTC Jan 13 through 8:00 UTC Jan 14th

We are going to be upgrading our database for the BOINC systems from MySQL 5.0 to MySQL 5.5. There have been substantial improvements in the MySQL database performance between these releases, and as we continue to grow, we need this additional performance.

In order to accomplish this change, we will need to stop all access to the BOINC database during this change. This will allow us to take a clean backup of the database and then upgrade the system. Due to the size of the database, we expect it to take some time to do this upgrade and thus the length of the outage.

During the outage the website and forums will work (except for the result status page which queries the BOINC database). Additionally, clients will be able to update result files and download input files. However, clients will not be able to communicate with the server to report completed results nor obtain new work to process.

Additionally, this change window occurs during the end of day statistics process. We will defer the end of day statistics process until after the database upgrade is complete.

We apologize for the disruption, but it is necessary to support the continued growth in your contribution.

thanks.

thx, I didn't noticed i was even close to that pt. i been busy a late so i haven't been playing attention to WCG. my workouts has been killing me, a lot of time it just hurts to lift my left arm or even walk. last night i did around 330 push ups with a 15 lb weight on my back (16 sets - 5 types). i will tell you one thing, doing push ups is a lot different then doing bench press. After various bench press for a few weeks, then going back to doing push ups, your body will be screaming in PAIN!!
all well, that is the goal. no pain, no gain.

anhhai, around 330 push ups? Ouch!!!

crying biggrin

Yes, bench presses and bench squats (like using the Smith Machine) is (for me) a lot easier than doing push ups (for now). But 330 of them? No way, Jose. Not with my lower back the way it is for right now. Did push ups last week grabbing a bar of weights on a Smith machine with my feet stretching from a bench. Yikes! tongue

Oh well, just as I posted earlier a few minutes ago in the Lounge forum, Bok (his superb Free-DC is the best (by far) Boinc daily stats and layout) is on vacation until Tuesday.

Just bear with us, Co-Captains (fellow Team Mates)! I spent time looking at other Boinc websites and wasted time trying to import stats into MS Excel (actually a cut and paste for starters. thinking

Re: Team Andrax, The Great International Team!

any of you guys heard of p90x? if not, it is a great exercise to get back into shape. Believe it or not, doing ONLY 330 push ups over 16 sets if my lighter workout. my workout tomorrow is much more tiring, but a little less painful. p90x does 24 sets for 2 muscle group (12 each), but i want more results so I do 30 sets. That combine with changing changing workouts every 3 weeks, can you say painful?

Like I said, it is a great way to get back into shape and lose weight. I lost 3 inches in 3 months (but only lost 7 lbs - gain muscles smile) and now have a modest 4 pack. I could of lost more fat if I diet too, like it recommends, but I didn't. I ate 3 or 4000 calories a day, this include your occasional cake (thats right i said cake, not slice of cake). However, it is a very intense and tiring workout. I was in serious pain almost everyday for those 3 months.

However, it really does work, if you are really able to make the sacrifice. Now when I work on only 1 muscle group like yesterday, I don't feel tired at all. Of course I can push myself a little bit more, so I am in even more pain, but all well.

There are a lot of great workout out there, but the only question is are we willing to make the sacrifice. Most people wouldn't want to workout 1hr a day for 5-6 days a week and be in pain every single day. Btw, I am a computer nerd, so if I can do it, just about anyone can.

Haven't been here for awhile--what's up with DC Stats as not all of us are listed this am. Do we need to "rejoin" or am I missing something obvious?

Re: Team Andrax, The Great International Team!

This is what JC posted in another thread yesterday:

"For all of you who utilizes Bok's incomparable (IMHO) Free-DC stats (I am lost without them and yes, I have looked at other Boinc stats websites - difficult to do a simple cut and paste to MS Excel and other annoying stuff) ....

From the link you provided, I finally know why Free-DC stats have been down:

Bok is on Vacation & won't be back till Tuesday so the Site will be down till then at least.

I wish the WCG just goes ahead with the Boinc conversion with the old UD points and make it easier here just to be able to do Team stats. It sure would make those who do stats for their Teams have more time to do their own jobs at work.

Got to pay those bills
!!!"

Basically the server crashed and he was on vacation.

Take care!

Ray
