Hey Andrax peoples! I haven't been on here in a while now, but still crunching away little by little... I may come across the opportunity of about 20-25 PCs and about 6 servers being donated to me and can be used for WCG. However, it's just not the place for me to host these machines. Electricity is expensive in CA and I don't have the time to administrate these machines. If somebody from our team here can host these for WCG, then I would gladly give them to you. Only thing I ask is that they are used for crunching and that you don't use them for profit in any way. Machine specs on most of the PCs are 1.6GHz P4 (400MHz FSB) with 512MB RAM, some have 1GB RAM. Some or all may come without HDDs due to sensitive information on them. Possibility of having Win2k installed. Servers are 1U 2.8GHz dual Xeons with HT (533MHz FSB) with 4GB RAM, some may have 2.5GB RAM. All of these will not have HDDs for sure. Let me know, I'll check back here... Chowbow, whoa!!! Great offer! ![]() 7cures, and you live close to him! 'sup, oVo? Team Mates, let's try to go over 89 Million Points Generated by the next update. Hey oVo, JC,
It's been a while, but still crunching. Weather is crazy hot in the Bay Area right now so only crunching out of efficient low heat laptops for now. Also thinking about upgrading my very aged Voodoo now. It's still running a 939 Opteron! Maybe a Q9300 is next? We'll see. Working out something with 7cures now so we'll see how it all turns out! |

We still have some Team Mates that are MIA. I hope that they return soon. It's the first day of Summer and I will be really busy with work and so on. I've really been out of the loop lately on this crunching stuff and what procs are fast and good clockers etc. Still an overclocker at heart so of course, I want something that can be pushed pretty far. Looks like the Q9300 isn't the ticket, will keep looking around but the Q6600 still sounds like a good old tried and true proc on the cheap!

Hi fellow Andraxians,
I just found out that my dear friend is in the hospital. Due to a genetic defect that forms in the embryo, she has developed a cancerous tumor on her spine (she's in her 50s). Apparently it's quite rare and will invade the spine and actually break it if not removed. That means her neck could break just from turning her head the wrong way. It took about 10 years to get to the point of causing pain, which is how she found out something was wrong. Anyway, they did one surgery a few days ago to put pins in her spine to stabilize it, and Wednesday another surgery will be done to remove part of the tumor. If they remove it all, she'll be paralyzed for sure. As upsetting as this is, I'm glad to be crunching to help the researchers. I don't feel 100% helpless this way. If you could send some positive thoughts out on Wednesday, I'll really appreciate it. Mary is a wonderful person. I think of her as my role model for parenting, and our sons are pals who will be starting college together in the fall. Thanks, littlemiss |
