Twice this week tasks for this project have resulted in errors well before completion of the task. In both cases my computer had completed about 25% of the task before the error occurred. Is there something wrong with my computer or is there and issue with the tasks for this project?

At present, there are no outstanding bugs in HPF2 that would cause the behaviour you describe.
To help us help you, please will you check the result log for the error work units, by going to the Results Status page and clicking on the links that say "Error"? Also, please will you tell us as much as possible about your computer and software? Thank you. |

Hello nittany85,
'Can't write init file' is a peculiar error to get on a system that has been working well. My first guess is just to run chkdsk /F and reboot. Lawrence |

There's and FAQ for - exit code -1073741502 (0xc0000142) - see a previous thread for discussion and link: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15710#122114
----------------------------------------The next means that the BOINC core client could not talk to the science application for too long and breaks off. No heartbeat from core client for 31 sec - exiting Could be security software interfering with the RPC communication over local host port 31416 or just plain denying permission to write a file which i just experienced after a Vista update that required for firewall also to get updated.
