Because it's so dry here, we don't have too much of a problem with mosquitoes. Because it is windy during the spring and fall the allergies can be a problem. But there are many micro-climates in the state. Much greener as you go north towards the state of Colorado, and desert-like in the south as you move towards the country of Mexico.

So many possibilities ... and people with allergies should bring their remedies
![]() Once I put just the tip of my toe into New Mexico. I forgot the place, but it had the most lovely little post office I have ever seen. It's nice of you to return here, Kevin Albuquerque. Do you have intentions of reviving this thread and get your teammates to come here, too? You have a reasonable member base, I can see, and you might be able to expand a bit. One thing which would be easy for you to do is putting a link to your team page where people can join you in your signature. Your captain did so, and if you quote his first post or mine here you find a turn-key link, which you could put into your signature: Fight Alzheimer's and Cancer - just a thought, depending of what you have in mind ![]() ![]() |

No real thoughts of reviving the thread, though it was nice to have someone respond! I was mostly interested in the Alzheimer's aspect of the group, but haven't seen any projects that address the issue. So I just leave the floodgates pretty much open. There seems to be a lot of need.
The Saguaro Cactus shown in the picture is probably in Arizona, USA. The are the epitome of desert scenes - we just don't have any in New Mexico! Cheers! Kevin (in Albuquerque). |

Yes, the need to be able to do something about Alzheimer's is huge and growing
as the populations around the world grow older - even as it can affect younger people as well. No Saguaros? ![]() Do you mean to say they respect a border? |

Haha, okay, I'll give you that. There may be some placed in landscaping in the far southern parts of the state, but they aren't found naturally in New Mexico. It's an Arizona state and Mexico thing. We get freezing temperatures here in the northern half of the state, and the altitude where I live is about one mile high (1.6 kilometers). So, while they don't recognize the border, they also don't cross it. :-)

Here's a link to show where they grow naturally: https://www.nps.gov/sagu/learn/nature/location.htm

Thank you for taking time out to make me a little wiser.
Who would have thought? But I understand elevation and temperatures - which often walk hand in hand - can be a deterrent. If you decide you want your team to grow, we could reinforce it for a bit and a little while with Base Campers. ![]() If you prefer to crunch peacefully, we respect that, but it would be nice if you kept checking in here now and then ![]() |

I'll try to do that. And thanks for your input!

I'll take that as a promise Kevin_Albuquerque
- who knows a bit of conversation could evoke a bit of interest. Perhaps some other member - or even your team captain came upon the idea to check in here. ![]() |

Did everyone else get a notice from the @Rosetta projects? I opened that up and now no computing is being done on these projects.
