It is also uncannily dynamic. It's flat when I first look at it, and climbs to a larger number of users.

"The missing stats graph"?
----------------------------------------For me it is your second one. Where I think you intended to put a second graph I only see a puzzling empty space. Anyway have no regrets: if it is this graph which allows you to say that there is "no increase in the daily amount of number crunching" it is wrong anyway!Whether looking at the little interesting (*) runtime or the more interesting number of points anybody with the right figures sees that there is a tremendous increase. 40-50 % more runtime when compared to one year ago. And about 130 % more points (i.e. 2.3 times more). Anything wrong in your methodology? (*) I say little interesting for the runtime because nowadays runtime is essentially CPU time (from Boinc members), while it was essentially wallclock time (from UD members) one year ago. Cheers. Jean. |

Compared with a Year ago of course there is more crunching going on but we seem to have been static for a while now.
----------------------------------------What the graphs show is that despite the increased numbers the daily amount of crunching is not going up in response. The graphs show that we are currently treading water probably losing as many crunchers as we are gaining at the moment They also show that the number of crunchers which should be logarithmic as more crunchers tell more crunchers about the WCG isn't The graphs also show that no large influxes of new users arrive with the addition of any new partners just the slow steady trickle. IBM and CA's should be concerned as to why this is ![]() |

It's like the climate observations Dave.... you stick your nose out the window and today things 'look' bad to you. Taking a micro-view tells nothing about the overarching progress like this:

I'll go further, David: those graphs of yours use just about all of those misleading tricks you complain about so bitterly.

I wonder how many more CA's I can get to come out of the woodwork and dismiss this information extracted from IBM's own RSS Stats Feed?

Why isn't our message getting through? What could we do differently?
