Thanks Ivan, but if you folks stay awake can see it too
Once in a red moon: Stay up to see stunning e...e matched for seven years Night owls can catch one of the great spectacles of the night sky early tomorrow morning - the last "proper" total eclipse of the moon for seven years. If the skies are clear, those who brave the cold will see the earth's shadow take a "bite" out of the moon just after 1.40am. At 3am, when the total eclipse gets under way, the moon will turn blood-red for 52 minutes as it passes completely into shadow...... Bottom line Partial eclipses of the moon are visible every year. The next time a total eclipse will be fully visible from Britain is September 28, 2015 |

Met Office forecasters said the best places to watch the eclipse would be in North West England, the Pennines, North Wales, Somerset and Dorset. Cloud is forecast for the whole of Scotland but observers stand a reasonable chance of getting a good view in the east.
Areas where there is little chance of seeing the eclipse include East Anglia, the Midlands, the Welsh borders and Western Scotland. Rest will have to watch their own forecast , ta ![]() |
