Did you take 'doggie' with you or was he left "home alone"? Took him with me, and he behaved a Treat! ![]() |

Evening all
Thanks for the tip René. I had the firewall request a couple of days ago and allowed. I've now reset BOINC and a couple of units have appeared. The abortion process that removed work units earlier must have switched the link off. I was, perhaps, too confident when they advised that one needed to do nothing and that the system would automatically start again when the new system was up and running. A mild and wet day here for a change but I think the clear skies and chilly days are due back very soon. |

That's good to hear Ivan. It is supposed to correct itself but that could last as long as a week if I remember correctly from a post in member news.
----------------------------------------Meanwhile my energy wu took a whopping 36 hours on my core 2 duo. These wu's have various length. I had some short ones also. I have now another long one running. And unfortunately another one got stuck and started over and over again, I had to abort that one. Lost at least a half a day of crunching. It's all in the game I guess. It's posted in known issues, they aborted a whole batch of these bad ones and are investigating further, CEP is currently suspended. If anyone is running energy wu's make sure that they're not stuck at zero cpu time and starting over and over again. On a lighter note, evening all. It's a little bit warmer here, snow is finally melting. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 12, 2009 9:07:34 PM] |

Thanks for that René, I've just aborted a CEP unit that was going nowhere.

Good morning all, I too have had great variances in CEP wu's some as short as 10 and now one that will finish up at around 130hrs.
----------------------------------------Still not getting credit for most of the work I'm returning. Have verified that all machines are connecting and working on new work, but still gettting less than half the credit per day that I was getting before the move. Guess I shouldn't complain, I've been with WCG for 20 months now and this is the first real problem I've seen. With GRID it was 6 or more per year. 20deg. F this morning, supposed to be 10deg. by Friday, looks like winter has finally decided to arrive. Y'all have a great day.

Evening all
Since my restart yesterday everything seems to be running smoothly. Just had a series of Cancer units so didn't trip over the problem ones. I see they are going to cut down the size of some other units. As I look only at points it will make no real difference. |
