As part of my teams WCG drive, we thought we'd take part in some of the challenges.
Unfortunately, how to do this seems to be a well guarded secret! I can see a list of open (I assume 'closed' are invite only) current and soon to start challenges, but can see no description as to what they are or any way to join any competition. Anyone care to enlighten me as to what (obvious) step I'm missing? Cheers, MacDitch  |

Hi.
Never joined one myself but, and I may be wrong......I think only team captains can see the "join this challenge" linkys. I am capn of my team and just looked and there were about 5 challenges available.....with join links on the right. You capn of your team? |

The team captain (founder elsewhere?) did look in quickly but said he didn't see any links either. Maybe he just needed some more time rather tahn a flying visit. Edit: You need to lose the indx.php off the end of your linky I thinky. Guess I should have checked my meory before submitting the signature - I'll go fix it now. Cheers. |

Sekerob, I'm sorry that you feel so agrieved by the time other people have taken to help me. I must admit that I missed the 'Help' button - it's so far removed from all the other buttons and links I just didn't notice it - but I did spend a considerable amount of time trying to find the answers by browsing the forum and running searches. Whilst there were lots of hits, there was nothing of use.
Actually, having looked at the link you supplied - the answer still isn't there! There is lots of information about how to start challenges, but nothing jumps out when I scan it saying 'How to join a challenge'. Knowing (now) what I'm looking for, I can infer that only Team Captains have this ability, but it is not stated anywhere that I can see. |

Dont worry MacDitch, long as we're able to reach 1 or 2 finding the write ups it gives already the satisfaction. And for inference, it's actually there:

As the captain of a team, you can create as many Team Challenges as you want; the only requirement is that they have different names so members can tell them apart from other Team Challenges. Does not explicitly say that others cant, but if all team members could ... Anyway, this thread hopefully will 'help' many more with the question to find their way to Challenge Nirvana. enjoy Note to self: Write FAQ how to grab captaincy, what to do if he's awol and summarize what the function can do.

I appreciate the restriction on creating the challenges was necessary (even if I hadn't thought about it) and stated, but I was asking about accepting them. As it turns out the restriction is the same - so question answered.
