Hi there, i have recently joined WCG and Team UK. My PC is on 24/7 and is athlon 5000/2GB Ram/320GB disc space/4GB readyboost. Is there any way I can upgrade my pc to better serve the community?

Hi all. I stopped crunching last year after receiving a particularly high electricity bill :-(
However, I have recently started crunching again with 4 machines, all athlon dual processors, so hope to produce around a dozen results daily. I will try to stop looking at my electricity bills :-) Happy crunching Tom. |

Just passed the 4 year mark and the 3 million points mark as well
---------------------------------------- A blue badge for FAAH is only 21 CPU days away as well RE: TomNuttall: Welcome back and thankyou for unleashing those machines again on the research RE: Jasonmerc: Welcome to the team, the Forum and WCG I'm not an expert on upgrading PC's, but I would say that there is a lot you could do to upgrade the machine, it all depends on how much money you want to spend. Or, if your willing/able to, you could look at possibly overclocking your machine (if it's overclockable, some systems aren't, like most Dell's). |
