Two of the 3 here presented have had several mentions before on these fora, but given a 3rd was just stumbled on and trialled for a few days, here an all in one (over)dose to monitor your BOINC job progress.
----------------------------------------![]() 1. This Vista only gadget shows a roling view of all the projects a member has contributed to. It updates whenever the website makes new stats data available that the various credit tracker websites keep. Several copies can be loaded if you wish to monitor several members. Just enter the CPID. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=2102#12346 2. A new one, it gives the progress for each concurrent job running on the local client. Designed originally for 1 or 2 core CPUs, you can actually add multiple copies of the gadget to the sidebar and specify in the 'core' number it needs to look it. The sample shows the status on a 4 core machine. See no reason why it would not work on a octacore either. The setup only requires to tell in which directory the core client is installed. Different skins allow for matching to your desktop. http://www.techenclave.com/forums/boinc-gadget-for-vista-sidebar-93466.html 3. The older Firefox status bar add-in. Even works on the 3.0 Beta 2 release. Just use the 'make compatible' option to load it. Can list all your projects, and except for WCG jumps to the statistics page of the project that is being shown. Get it on addons.mozilla.org With the latest patches, any Vista sidebar gadget is now also audited if it's up to something. Incredibly it previously was not. No more need to hover the BOINC icon in the status bar or fire up the BOINCmgr to see progress (particularly if you run your client as a service). enjoy

With a fresh picture as imageshack dumps them if not looked at for a while... oh wait, we have that WCGwikia too petering away in cold neglect: http://wcg.wikia.com/wiki/BOINCstats_gadgets Enjoy the Reconnaissance ;>) edit: the Vista Gadgets also work under Windows 7, where they can be made free floating, put anywhere on the desktop, even permanently on top.

Sek thanks for the gadget. I installed it but tells me "no running projects". I have only NRW running on 8 threads.
----------------------------------------I am on W7 64 bit. I set the Boinc directory but this does not work. Can you explain what is the " boinc core directory " or where can I find that. ![]() ![]() |

The going principle is not to RTFM unless there is a problem and I had none that I could not solve without a FM. No idea which of the gadgets you refer to, but if it's not the data_dir, I'd guess it's the directory where boinc.exe is installed also known as core client.
----------------------------------------Know that you can install multiple of the same and then refer them to the different cores i.e. as in the sample where I loaded 2, showing the 4 different cores (now showing bouncing/scrolling 3x RICE and one HFCC). edit: http://blog.orbmu2k.de/ has many more gadgets. Learn german, I guess you do being a resident amongst Die Eidgenossen :D

Get it here: http://www.myfavoritegadgets.info/monitors/BOINCMonitor/BOINCMonitor.html [not tried it, but there will be interestees].

That program tries to install a lot of added junk!!! |
