Re: LET'S ORGANIZE OURSELFS AND MAKE A WCG DONATION ACCOUNT

The answer is that we've tried to enlist other companies to join with World Community Grid and so far no one is interested. All of the other companies are all doing their own philanthropical thing and don't want to get involved in something that they didn't originate.

One of our targets is all mega corporations via the partner program. Think of how many PC's they have and what that would do for the crunching. We've had very high level IBM execs speak with their counterparts at the target companies and so far --- nada. Their excuse is always: security and impact on workstations. As an example, I have personally been to the B&M G. Foundation in Seattle and they were not interested because they are doing their own thing too.

We have tons of people with great ideas but not too many who want to roll up their sleeves and make something happen themselves.

So it's up to us to spread the word. Us being the support team, the current members, and the organizations who are running research.

My own opinion is that we should be more active in the online communities such as Facebook, YouTube, 2ndLife, etc. We have some presence out there but not much. You can help out by going out there and seeing what you can do.

Thank you for your answer.
For sure I will do (doing it since grid.org-2002) my part on my level.
It is interesting to find out that IBM execs fail to impress theyre colleagues from other companies....
It is an indiferent world after all...

Thank you again.
