Hi All. I have been using BOINC for quite awhile. On all my other projects I am able to easily change the resource share from the default 100% to the %age of my choice. For the life of me I can not find it for this project. Can anyone help me using laymans terms? I am what you might call an advanced beginner. Thanks in advance.

Click custom. The setting you want is at the bottom. Remember, the project weight ISN'T a percentage. |

How does resource sharing work? I assumed that if you had 2 projects you would give each %50 to equal 100%, or you would allocate more to one progect like 60%, 40%. If you had four you might give each 25%, etc.
But if 100% is the default, does that mean that it uses 100% of available space while it it running, and they all should be 100@. I just added several new projects today, inlcuding this one, and I need clarification. Please advise. Thanks, Melora |

Like I said: it isn't a percentage. You can convert it to a percentage like this:
project percentage = (project weight / sum of all weights) * 100 BOINC Manager does this calculation for you. So, if you leave all the weights at the default 100, then each project will have an equal share. The numbers you chose don't matter; only the proportions matter. |

Hi, It is not strictly a % per se. What happens is the BOINC client figures out what share to give each project you pick. If you have 2 projects at 100% then they are each 50/50. But you can jigger the #'s. I have a favorite project set at 60 and least favorites at 10. That way my favorite gets more time and the least gets less time. Do not care exactly what the actual # works out to be.
