This is related to my previous post (6 Dec) about my PC seizing up after shift to BOINC. When this (faah) runs as screen saver it stops responding. This is the second time it's happened. I couldn't get any details this time but last time it was (from Task Manager):
"faah version 5.42[workunit: faah2809_zinc01627327_xmd11624_01]" and Not Responding. Every other WCG thingee now seems to run OK after my last post. My question is I suppose: Can I opt out of this particular one and just do whatever else? Thanks |

Me again! I've just realised (duh!!) that faah is fight AIDS at home..my favourite project.. So I don't want to stop it. I forgot to look at the messages but they just say the new work was downloaded OK. dddt is running at the moment. faah is showing 0%. Any help?

Hello Bryanp,
We have had some members with screen saver DLL problems. Why not try running a non-BOINC screen saver? Also, why not allow it to use 100% of your memory? The OS will use whatever it needs, but if you set a BOINC limit the program will mysteriously stop if it happens to reach it. Lawrence |
