Forum pages sloooow

Hello all,

Since 10 o'clock (UTC), I try to get access to the forum. The pages load very slow, and sometimes ends in an error. The other tabs – like Home, About Us, Research and Statistics – load alright. It also takes a lot of time to sign in.
Are there more people having the same problems?

Have a nice day,
Path7.

Re: Forum pages sloooow

Aan het aantal berichten te zien zou je denken van wel :O

All parts seem to work now except the fora. Even when not logging in, my browser seems to hang on trying to first open http://worldcommunitygrid.org/ForumLogin.do...

One post i managed to get thru as a reminder that UD agent server is going down, now in 30 minutes, remained invisible.

Edit: This one is double and invisible on the index as well.

Re: Forum pages sloooow

Sorry for not posting. After we got things working again my 4 year old wanted to put the star on the Christmas tree and I sort of forgot to come back and explain what happened........

The db2 database that runs the forums experienced an error following the weekly offline backups. This error caused the buffer pool prefetching processes to repeatedly fail. Basically this meant that the buffer pools were nonfunctional so everything was being pulled from disk rather then from the RAM cache. This causes performance to become awful. We saved the logs and other information and then completely shut db2 down and made sure all processes stopped completely (we had to manually kill off the prefetch processes). Once we did that we were able to bring everything back up and normal behavior was restored.

We are looking into what caused the problem in the first place.

Sorry for the inconvenience it caused everyone.
