Preface: I am running the BOINC client on 3 machines, 2 older machines and 1 fairly new one. I initially took on both HCC and HPF2 on all machines but after some time restricted the older machines to HPF2 only which takes about half the time as HCC on them. The newer machine still runs both and HCC takes only about 20% longer.

In looking back I have also realized that all 3 machines get about 90% of the claimed points granted for HPF2 work units, but all 3 only received about 50% of the claimed points for HCC work units. I read about validation but am just curious as to why a more intensive work unit generates such significantly lower results?
