confused Never seen a WU from AfricanClimate

Hi folks,

I've got two hosts attached to WCG through BOINC, both sharing the same profile w/ AfricanClimate and Beta Testing enabled and both meeting minimum requirements for this project, but I don't seem to have ever seen a single WU form this project.

Any idea why?
Are they still so few in comparison with the other WCG projects (All of them are enabled for my hosts) that I just never had the chance to get one or is it that their duration is so short that they could complete and report before I happen to notice them in BOINC manager?

Thanks

darkpella

Yes - there are only 820 active workunits circulating at a given time

See "Why am I not receiving workunits":

Hope that helps

You can always check your results under My Grid --> Results Status, and then filter by project

Re: Never seen a WU from AfricanClimate

Yes indeed. Unfortunately there ARE too few WUs for this project. I'm saddened by this of course because I can't get the badge for it - and it's the last badge I'm missing crying

There are 10 batchdges in circulation atm. Find posts by e.g. Uplinger to see them all.

Re: Never seen a WU from AfricanClimate

My understanding is that we will have to run a few models through the entire run (simulating a year) before the scientists can validate the program. Until then, if we start running a lot of models we might waste our member's time.

This project is going to last long enough to get our badges.

Hi/Salut Kotatsu!
You get a badge for 14 days of runtime, not 14 hours... Therefore for African Climate that means much patience. smile

Bye. Jean.

I have one - I feel special biggrin (Just wish I would've started here earlier so I'd also have the HPF1 too)
