Hi
I just upgraded to the BOINC client, version 5.10.30 on my WinXP machine. The screensaver puts up a black screen and the only way I can get back in is to hit Ctrl-Alt_Del. The FAQ and help files don't give me anything to work with. Anyone have more info on how to cure this?  |

What do you see if you select Start - Srttings - Control Panel - Display - Screensaver - Preview? Does the screen freeze up in blank mode while still allowing all the other processes to run? I assume that you can bring up Task Manager? |

When I preview the screensaver, it initially shows the WCG logo with the message "loading screensaver". Then it goes black. Task manager will come up, and shows other processes running. I have to end task on the BOINC client to get the desktop back.
If the screensaver starts normally, Ctrl-Alt-Del restores the login screen for the computer, and task manager is open when I log in but the esktop is there and all I have to do is close task manager. |

Hello Hawaii_Hank,
For the moment, I can only suggest changing your screensaver to 'blank'. We are having a run of trouble with the screensaver on some machines. Lawrence |
