I am a member of World Community Grid for a long time, and there is a enhancement suggestion that I would like to do for a long time, and now I decided to write to you, expect to be in the right place.
I always use the Screen Saver option, but this option does not work properly, even with the configuration set to 3 minutes sometimes when I come back from lunch the client is not running, and this is almost one hour later. Said that my suggestion is to have a button where you can press whenever you want to start the client, like the one we have for snooze. And once I use the client in my office computer, it would be great if you also have the option to lock the computer and have the client to start running with a simple click in a button. This will be a great solution, and it will bring more hours of processing for the researches. Regards, LGCONTI |

Hello Lgconti,
Version 6 of BOINC will normally install as a service. Why not look over the control options that work with services and suggest any changes that would best suit your needs? Lawrence |

Hi Lgconti,
----------------------------------------Can i ask you.... Is BOINC set to process always or only to run when the machine is not used? If set to only work if not used, is the time to start set shorter than the 3 minutes for the Screen-saver to start? BOINC Screensaver needs BOINC.exe to start running before it can connect.

Can you please let me know how can I do that? The first thing to do is to Register in the BOINC Trac system ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki ). Then you can start reading through the BOINC Wiki. My suggestion would be to start at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/PrefsReference then look up more information in the index ( http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/TitleIndex ). Lawrence |

As what i wrote "BOINC Screensaver needs BOINC.exe to start running before it can connect." meaning you need to set the client on 2 minutes.
