Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Incidentally I had a dream last night about a problem with workunits. Let me tell the introduction to this story first. You know you get awarded runtime, points and your number of returned results increases with each valid workunit that you upload. Some WUs are lengthy, some are somewhat shorter. It just so happens that when I started out at WCG some ten years ago, I didn't have my own team (top40.nl) yet, so I joined a small team at first. Only a few days later my own team top40.nl started its career. wink

Now, in my dream I suddenly experienced that some very fast workunits sometimes weren't credited towards the top40.nl team, but to the small team that I joined in the very beginning instead. That was a problem in my dream, because - apart from the fact that that small team isn't really operational anymore - the credits simply didn't belong there, of course. So I had to find a way to report that fact back here in the forum ... and then I woke up. devilish

Was it a nightmare? confused Well, not yet, maybe close. laughing

What a great date to celebrate your birthday, I´m also celebrating something today because I married Chemist Cruncher (Helena) today 16 years ago. Now I will never forget this date again.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Dear Little Mermaid,
I still borrow nieces and nephews, I think I will always prefer the lease option on children.
My weather station had a tree fall on it in an ice storm, I have since moved out of my sisters house into a house of my own and the station would not give good data so far in town. sad Maybe I'll get a small one for my own enjoyment.

I'm still in Iowa, and still working at John Deere, but I have left the Welding and Laser floor and have been promoted to management! (that's why I can afford the new house)

I remember our talks on the old board fondly, once I remarked that "I never thought to find an alternative to the silence". That phrase has been a constant companion of late. If you remember, a base camp ago, I moved in to my Grandparents house to care for them, but lost Grandpa to cancer anyway. Grandma had Alzheimer's, that was an experience. Last year I moved in my parents to my new house. I lost Mom this spring, and Dad is not doing well emotionally. I dare not look into my own feelings, I have work to do.

Base Camp was a place to unwind from things and I'm so very glad it was never fully gone. For keeping us all together and even finding new trekkers, I wish I could award you with another Rosie, but they are not mine to give. Instead, I give you a Trippant Stag badge. It is the symbol of my family.

Dear T.G.Wakko
My heart goes out to you for what you have been - and are still - going through.
I'm glad you have your house now, and I hope you enjoy your new functions
with John Deere.
Thank you very much for the Trippant Stag Order.
If Base Camp's Castle - our team forum - still existed, it would be placed
in the Treasure Chamber.
Could you expand a little on that symbol of your family, please?
I see something Scottish ....

Good Morning Base Campers!

I'm in a pickle. I promised SeriousCrunchers that Base Camp would join them,
if they wanted to participate in the THOR Challenge 2019.
Before thinking further than that, I asked Captain sujo1 what his intentions are
in respect to joining that challenge.
Please stay tuned, and please think for me crying

Little Mermaid
Great to hear that you feel progress.
I also see that you still are one of the top 3 crunchers in Global Protection Team. Thanks so much for still staying and staying this long.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Oh, I'm beginning to feel very much at home, Chris.
Thursday I visited Rudolph Tegner's Museum and the Sculpture Park in Rusland
- Danish for Russia called so because it is far away (from what?)
It was good. Never did I see so many happy sculptures and smiling busts smile
Yes, it's wonderful to realize exercise has a positive effect on my hip pain.
It's a very good incentive for keeping at it.

I hope Chemist Cruncher is well. Please say hello to her from me.
