Good Afternoon Base Campers & Friendly Visitors!
Business Thank you all of you for keeping the Base Camp thread alive while I was out of town. I would prefer to comment on all you input, but I’m just too plain tired, so I’ll keep it simple until I regain some strength: NixChix, you should contact the air control personnel in Copenhagen, Denmark, whenever YOU have finished frolicking in France. Details will follow. acpartsman, I’m so happy to see you getting the recognition you deserve. If you ask nicely, they may let you have simple ketchup with the devouring …  Chit-chat Paris has sent my head spinning. People I met were smiling, friendly, and tolerant no end. To my own surprise, I was able to carry out low level conversations with most people I met. In French I’m sure reading your posts in French, stefada, has done wonders brushing up my 'skills'. I stayed in the next-lousiest hotel room - the worser one is in the small town of Stenay; I stayed there, too, some 40 years ago  but the view across the city was brilliant from Montmartre  The food – even street food types – was very tasty. Sirens from ambulances and especially police were heard constantly except for a small break in the middle of the night. The public transport – Metro and busses – ran impeccably except for being cordoned off because of ’manifestations’ (demonstrations in French) by the Gilets Jaunes. Well, see you soon; I need sleep .....  |

I haven't had the brains to study the beautiful badge, you created - will I ever get it?  - the brains to figure out if I qualify for the badge ...  stefada, Louloup is charming as usual - I never tire of him. Please pet him from me  Good Morning Base Campers! Business  Sufficiently awake to catch an idea Our next trek is going to Global Protection Team. We have a badge - well, we have two, nap's and mine. One was selected by flipping a coin as per nap's suggestion - and that was my tail that came up  I flipped in Denmark, nap is in Boise, Idaho  It dawned on me that we could make a vote. Isn't it the democratic way? As to the timing, several issues are up in the air. 1. When will acpartsman feel satisfied devouring CFS members? 2. When will anyone NOT be in one or several long races? 3. When will NixChix return from his nostalgic journey to that historic airfield in Luxembourg (I like to say it in French)? - well, I already promised him his badge even if he's late for this trek which we haven't scheduled yet So, Base Campers, your input will be greatly appreciated  Next will be team The Christians sometime in May - TLD, will this be our third or fourth trek to The Christians? followed by Five-Letter-Word-Gamer Aurum420's team: Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science - just a balancing act  nap, I hope you like the idea of a vote between your badge and mine because as you see from the above: We'll need two more in the near future The badges up for a vote are: X.
