How nice of Troy to thank our motley group. Never heard "motley group", olivia. Looked it up. Wikipedia offers this about motley crews: "A motley crew is a cliché for a roughly organized assembly of characters. Typical examples of motley crews are pirates, Western posses, rag-tag mercenary bands or freedom fighters." and goes on to say: "Motley crews are, by definition, non-uniform and undisciplined as a group. They are characterised by containing characters of conflicting personality, varying backgrounds, and, usually to the benefit of the group, a wide array of methods for overcoming adversity." That was interesting, indeed. a BLAST FROM THE PAST! Yes, that's what scribe exclaimed in the Teddie's thread when I went into their parlour with my calling card. Didn't quite know whether it was a good thing or a bad one. However, as the conversation turned friendly, I decided it must be a good thing in this instance. Besides, it rhymes ![]() Cannot it be both, olivia? Are you coming with us on the BBT Trek #27? Do you still drive that yellow Hummer? - you shouldn't by any means have come across the gin, should you? [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 11, 2011 11:00:07 AM] |

Ted has contacted pwrguru resulting in a commitment of about 300K per day starting Wednesday
- Wednesday being April 13 - a little ahead of schedule if he means Outpost Trek #2 which I think he does as it was posted in that thread - but in perfect accordance with our rigid and strict schedules, right Rick? We'll take it. ![]() He also made a commitment of "a few machines" to be moved in at BBT Trek #27 tonight. Besides he added a couple of gpu's to Outpost Trek #2. Maybe tonight as well. Same machines, different cards? Put together I think we could look for some guru-cpu's at BBT tonight and some guru-gpu's arriving at USAF tonight as well and more arriving there on Wednesday. I can help computing, Sport, if you wish. Me already confusing the picture hanging in with the USAF with my mini_collatzes. Guru, please correct me if I misunderstood something? |

No you are correct...
I moved 1 gpu already and will move another one on Wednesday to the Airforce trek. And I move 3 machines (10 cores) to BBT as of today... Might take a day or two to see anything as my cache of Poem has to run out first... |

Good Morning, Base Campers (and Trek Victim)!
Went to the BBT team page and noticed a few things: Cruncher Pete came all the way from Australia and pitched his tent in a cool place - nice seeing you, Pete. olivia is still there - like Evita, she never really left you Pwrguru@BC is on the active list sticking to his promise USAFA 82 is active - were you yesterday as well? I don't think so. Problem is, I didn't make proper observations yesterday. Sorry. Hard to get into the hang of it again. I don't know how many times I have asked you kindly to reveal the whereabouts of the gin without getting any answer. Maybe I should stop whispering .... Didn't anyone ever tell you that Gin makes you Sin....?? pwrguru asked. That is the closest I came to an answer. Sigh! I think you are sincerely worried so, OK, I'll stick with my lowfat milk for now. Dan Holtz, would you happen to have the current ranking of the Air Force in relation to the Navy and maybe other teams you would like to show your smoke? Maybe it could entice one or two competitive crunchers with a penchant for the Air Force to take a leave of absence and pitch in by May 1st. To join Base Camp now would allow possible candidates time to get aquainted with this Motley Group - and us Campers with them ![]() |

I rejoined yesterday (4/11). I'll stick around for a few days at least. Do stay a little longer, please, Michael. Did you see the huge trucks - don't ask me how many wheels - over at the truck stop at the Base Camp Camp Ground?Good Morning Base Campers - and to our current Trek Victim: BitBendersTech I have bad news and I have good news. Mom told me decades and decades ago to deal with the bad things first: Looking forward towards Outpost Trek #2, I'm not sure what we aim to obtain, but no matter what: Navy is far, far ahead of Air Force. I only have numbers for two days, but they indicate the gap is widening. I shall, of course, follow up on that. The good news is that Trek #27 is humming along nicely and as far as I can tell, you have a jolly good time without female interference. To help it run smoothly we now have the company of: vaio - Everton fan and unruly puppy As vaio doesn't live in the WCG building makes his arrival even more of a surprise. vaio, I would like to think you did this for me in order to bid me welcome back [reaching for napkin]. Thank you, unruly puppy. A Motley Crew is always restless, needs something happen all the time. Yesterday we hatched the idea of Base Camp University. We want to be educated, skilled, fit, and cultured. Will keep you updated on this one, too. Reaching for the pitcher of low fat milk and clearing her throat, little mermaid admits: Base Camp needs all the help it can get for Outpost Trek #2 Air Force running normal collatzes and mini-collatzes, so if you feel like trying to give the Navy a little competition, please join us. ![]() Yes, we accept applications from Navy folks, sure ... have at least one at Base Camp already. Didn't hear anything about mutiny. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 13, 2011 10:35:30 AM] |
