Re: Christmas Race!

As the Dutch Power Cows has just joined the race I am more than glad to come back at WCG for a month (normally folding at Folding@Home).

Good race to all!

Re: Christmas Race!

Strange, I couldn't find the 'join' link--I had to 'create' one using another challange as a template.

Re: Christmas Race!

The race started December 1, meaning that you should have joined by the end of November 30.

There are always other races starting. Sorry you missed that one.

The time to get in, BTW, would have been before 0000 UTC December 1 on the start of the race, which was 6pm on the Nov 30 here, local central standard time. During DST hours, 0000 UTC translates to 7pm central standard time. Your time zone may be different.

It doesn't mean midnight, local time unless you live in the English region, Morocco or somewhere else in that slice. 0000 UTC (same as Greenwich Mean Time, essentially) is the break on the statistics day.

Re: Christmas Race!

The standings after the first 4 days. The Nr.1 is slipping, the cows marge on and german powercalc pushes too. The Gamers also joysticked themselves into the top 10 whilst TeamMacNN is making a move as well, both at the expense of MOT and PCReview. The BOINC@Poland is beating Bulgaria to the point and swap position.

Below 20, lots and lots of movement in green and red, whilst the yellow are sticking to their ground.

Five teams have not put down their foot yet and booted in a score.... what's holding you back guys?

Between day 1 and day 4, the daily competition totals increased by 333 thousand points.... way to go. And overall, 18 million was recorded.... Superioré

Re: Christmas Race!

The stats are very impressive. So lets go for more points.
I'm wondering, that now are 102 teams are in the race, at start we were only 101. On teams joined after the start. I thought this would be impossible?

As per discussion in other thread, the only way to find is is trying it.... think though it was a very last minute, or a mail to support explaining extraneous circumstance.

Personally, with races with this many teams and duration its a case of focusing on the teams around you in the field and cheering up the team members to let it run a few hours more.... not that concerned over any gatecrashers.... maybe a grace period as an X percent of total competition days in an open race as a suggestion.

So with the race on hand, the teams in green have risen in either overall and or in daily points with the Christians beating the Special Off-Topic at a nose length for the first 5 days. MOT continues to loose ground and German Rechenkraft.net, Virtually New at WCG, building up their aspirations. Insider info is though that the Cows are determined to keep that green streak of dailies going for as long as possible.... the Canada team is tailing off a bit....wazzup?

Will we see less red tomorrow? Dailies points in Green means more than the day before.
